TSC Buddy Initiative

The Story of the TSC Buddy

The TSC Buddy was created from one simple but powerful idea: no one affected by tuberous sclerosis complex should ever feel alone. This reflects the heart of the TSC Alliance’s mission — to improve quality of life for everyone affected by TSC by supporting research, care, and community.

Tuberous sclerosis complex can be overwhelming—full of questions, medical terms, and uncertainty. The TSC Buddy is there in that moment to say, “We see you. We walk with you.”

The Buddy represents comfort, encouragement, and connection—just like the community that the TSC Alliance helps foster. It’s a reminder that the journey with TSC is not a solo path: families, volunteers, clinicians, advocates, and researchers are walking alongside every step.

Curious and compassionate, the TSC Buddy listens to stories, celebrates milestones (big and small), and brings reassurance on tough days. They may not have all the answers, but they know where support can be found and how to bring people together.

Most importantly, the TSC Buddy symbolizes hope—the same hope that fuels the TSC Alliance’s vision of a future where everyone affected by TSC can live their fullest lives.

Wherever the TSC Buddy appears—on a walk, in a photo shared online, at a clinic, or in the hands of someone just starting their journey — it carries one clear message:

 You belong. You are supported. You are part of a community that cares.

Contest & Prizes

Regional Sponsors Recognition Challenge (Ends June 3, 2026)

Recruit sponsors for your local TSC Alliance Walk—virtual or in-person—and earn exclusive rewards for your team. Every sponsor you secure strengthens local impact while supporting nationwide progress.

Challenge Details

  • Eligibility begins at the $1,500 sponsorship level

  • All sponsors—at every level—receive full recognition and benefits per the official packet

  • Challenge rewards are in addition to standard sponsorship benefits

All 2026 sponsors at $1,500 or more are automatically included. Sponsors remain eligible for multiple drawings—the earlier you secure them, the more chances there are to win.

Open to both in-person and virtual participants. Each drawing selects multiple Team + Sponsor winners across all tiers.

Official Walk T-Shirt

Participants who raise $100 or more are eligible to receive an official Step Forward to Cure TSC® t-shirt.

T-shirts are available for in-person pickup at official walk locations only.
At this time, we are unable to ship shirts to individual participants who do not attend an in-person walk.

To ensure accurate bulk shipping, shirt sizes must be selected during registration at least 21 days before your event date. Sizes and quantities are subject to availability.
